Proton Squad was an elite clone commando unit of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. This team played a key role in the defeat of the Separatists by assassinating several CIS leaders and gathering intelligence on the enemies’ plans. But the squad ultimately defied Order 66, turned on their fellow clones, and saved the life of their Jedi General. The squad had several different members over the years, though 1543 was always the squad leader. One, the traitorous RC-1526, actually defected to the CIS.
