The Kestrel River flows from the eastern edge of the Mindspin Mountains in the Hold of Belkzen in a east-northeasterly direction along the former border of the Hordeline. It enters the territory currently controlled by the forces of Lastwall and passes by the town of Firrine. It then empties into the larger River Esk when flows southeast into Lake Encarthan.
