Considered subjects of the Romulan Empire, the Barolians industrial and commercial base is built around supporting the Romulan Empire. Barolian's have a limited interstellar capacity with only a few dozen freighters mainly used for commerce with the Romulan Empire. Several rogue or pirate ships have been sighted. Barolians are humanoids with unusually photosensitive skin and wear grey or brown robes in public. They have the ability to see many infrared frequencies, thus allowing them to work normally in very low light.
