In 1999, Lantern attended Herocon - '99, believing the venue to actually be hosting the supervillain convention. A massive brawl soon occured between the two factions, with Lantern engaging in battle with Captain Ego. The criminal was apparently unaware that the venue had been double-booked by the Meteor Destruction Man and was slow to consider that he was responsible for a meteor heading straight for the convention site.
