There are some hidden oppenents in the Gran Turismo series. These opponents appear at random intervals of any race event, but are not shown on the Typical Opponents or Recommended Cars screen. For example, in Gran Turismo 4, upon entering the Evolution Meeting, you will most likely encounter a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR '04 or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII RS '03. The hidden opponents in this race are the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR '95, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR '96, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR '98, and others not featured in the Recommended Cars list.
