Lawmaster/Lawmistress is a position in a Pride that is similar to a judge. Generally, the Lawmaster/Lawmistress is called upon to investigate charges that members of the Pride have acted dishonorably or in violation of the Precepts. In this role, he/she acts chiefly as a finder of fact, with any final judgement reserved for the Clawmasters or the Pride as a whole. The Lawmaster/Lawmistress may or may not be a Clawmaster, depending upon the specific set of rules governing any particular Pride.
