Charles Philip (Charles Philip Edmund Bartholomew, Swedish: Carl Philip Edmund Bertil, Finnish: Kaarle Filip Edmund Pertti) is the Crown Prince of Sweden and the governor-general of Finland. He was born 13 May 1979 in Stockholm, as the second child and only son of Charles XIII Gustavus and Queen Silvia, née Sommerlath. He was appointed governor-general of Finland 17 December 2002, and has served as such since. He resides in Helsingfors with his court. He is expected to become the third regent of the Bernadotte dynasty. Charles Philip is considered a conservative, just like his father.
