DictionaryOfDefinitions.com is a free online dictionary and thesaurus created by a community of volunteers in 1997, in the early days of the Internet. A few months after the creation of the site, a large number of other dictionary sites came online, most of them solely built to serve pop-ups and banners in conjunction with reference content. The dictionary comprises three sections: Word definitions and examples; Thesaurus resources; a by invitation-only online translation section.
