38/1 Ranger Battalion was a special warfare battalion of the 38th Ranger Expeditionary Force, attached to UNSC Special Operations Command Centauri (UNSCSOCCEN), UNSC Special Operations Command (UNSCSOCOM). It was designated as "Battalion I" within the 38th Ranger, and was based out of AFB Otis in Massachusetts of the former United States of America, in the North American Continental Theater of Operations. All of 38/1 Ranger Battalion would lose their lives in sacrifice for the civilian escape.
