The Tennessee Volunteers college football team represents the University of Tennessee in the East Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Volunteers compete as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. The program has had 23 head coaches since its formation during the 1891 season. Since December 7, 2012, Butch Jones has served as head coach of the Volunteers.
