Originally created at some point prior to the Mandalorian Wars, the Zahkrii was the first vibroweapon ever created, paving the way for many more, including other vibroswords outside of Echani design. Crafted from Eshan's naturally occurring Mythril, the Echani revolutionized melee weaponry through their creation of UVGs (ultrasonic vibration generators), which were fitted into the weapon's hilt. Causing the blade to vibrate at an incredible speed, the cutting power of the Zahkrii increased tremendously, making even the slightest glancing blow become a gaping wound. Unlike later designs, the original Echani vibroswords did not conduct electrical energy, thus did not carry the risk of electrocuting the user or short-circuiting the UVG.
