In the beginning cutscene before the first boss, Wallace invents the Springy Boots to make Gromit jump through the vent at the underground mine enterance, but he suddenly faces Feathers McGraw's drill along the many penguin robots. When Gromit uses this, he can jump high and he can avoid being hit by a robot. But if he times it perfectly, Gromit can use the boots against them.
