Gengyo was a merchant who sold genuine gaijin artifacts alongside with faked ones in his shop Gengyo's Oddities prior to the Scorpion Coup. The Emperor Hantei XXXVIII once visited his shop, recognizing the forbidden items, and requested the District Governor Asahina Hidari to close it. Hidari approached Gengyo and bargained to move the store to the Shattered Sun neigborhood in exchange for a percentage of his profits.
