Laatikaninen was born in Mäntyjärvi, a small town in province Kalliosaari. In July 3280, he moved from Mäntyjärvi to Artemjevsk, where he began his studies in the Department of Ecology at Artemjevsk State University (ASU), from which he graduated in 3285.
