Araan was truly massive, and many beings who had seen it described it as an endless fiery wall in space. Being a red star, Araan was cool enough to support some life, namely the monstrous dragons which lived near its surface. As a red hypergiant, Araan belonged to a class of short lived stars, and astronomers believed it had the potential to explode into a Hypernova at any moment and form a black hole in the process. Araan was located in the far Outer Rim Territories, but it did move very quickly through space.
