Monica Gallagher is a fictional character in the Channel 4 drama Shameless. She is played by Annabelle Apsion. Monica is the real mother of Fiona, Lip, Ian, Carl, Debbie and Liam Gallagher. She is also still legally married to Frank Gallagher, even though Frank has married Sheila Jackson (now Gallagher). She is bisexual and left Frank for a lorry driver (truck driver) named Norma. She returned home at the beginning of series 4 and has resumed sleeping with Frank, although her motives are as yet unknown. Norma followed her and took up residence in the Gallaghers' old Dormobile.
