The Mitannic class battlecruiser was a type of starship on active duty in Starfleet during at least the late 23rd century. (Federation Reference Series 3) Ships of this class were originally scheduled as Menahga-class ships, but tests necessitated improvements to ordnance systems and Bussard collectors, resulting in a subtly improved battlecruiser design. The lead ship and prototype, USS Mitannic, was commissioned in 2287.
