The club took SC Einheit Berlin's spot in the DDR-Oberliga for the 1963-64 season. They went on to play seven seasons in the Oberliga, finishing as high as second place in 1969-70. After the Oberliga was reduced to two teams in 1970, the hockey club was dissolved.
