Scotty Sands is a former NASCAR driver from Henryville, IN. Despite attempting multiple events, Sands only qualified for two Craftsman Truck Series events. His first start in the series came in 1999, when he drove a personally-owned vehicle into the field at ORP. After starting 34th, Sands finished 27th, running all but seveteen laps. Sands made the event largely due to the fact that only thirty-four trucks were entered (out of thirty-six maximum)
