In 1939, RKO created Betty Smith, as part of the Dinkartoons series and later for the Whistletoons series. The character is ripped off from Max Fleischer's Betty Boop. From 1938 to 1943, the cartoons are in black-and-white. From 1944 to 1959, the cartoons are in Technicolor. In 1950, Betty Smith got their own series. The series lasted until 1959.
