Mitsuki had subconsciously awakened Snake Sage Mode for the first time when he met his brother, Log. He honed it over the years with his teammates. Once Sarada became Hokage, Mitsuki defected from the village and went to Orochimaru. He killed his father and went to Ryūchi Cave. He trained under the Snake Sage and after thinking that he is strong enough, killed the sage but not after he was poisoned. He woke up in a familiar place: the Konoha Hospital. Boruto and Sarada, now married, watched their former teammate get up. Mitsuki immediately jumped out the window, deaf to the couple's pleads for him to return.
