The School of Planetology was a comprehensive galactic level university, dedicated to the study of terra-forming. The School was established during the reign of Emperor Paul Atreides on Arrakis, and was dedicated to the memory of Dr Liet Kynes and his pioneering father, Pardot Kynes; the man who first envisioned the beautiful and lush world that Dune eventually would become.
