While watching The Even Couple with Lois at the drive-in in a tank he purchased, originally as a car for Meg, Peter fires the cannon when he becomes frustrated at the lack of action. The shell smashes into the roof of a house, killing a housewife who nags her husband Tim about getting rid of a stump in the yard. Amazed, Tim goes to the yard and tells the stump that with his wife gone, they can finally be together. As the stump notes that it is rooted to the ground, Tim reassures it that they'll find a way.
