The USS Typhoon was a Nebula-class Federation starship in service in Starfleet since the 2360s. It's original mission profile included surveying and studying uncategorized gaseous anomalies in close proximity to the Penthara system, coordinating the efforts with scientists living in New Seattle on Penthara IV, as well as exploring previously uncharted space in the Beta Quadrant and running resupply missions to various Federation colonies and outposts.
