The school was consumed by a massive fire during the Black Prom Tragedy on May 27th of 1979. 73 people died in that massacre. It was later rebuilt at another place in Chamberlaine, where 20 years later many events occured, which later lead to the Black Party, that happened at the home of one of the high school students, Mark Bing.
