The Alexandretta Akropolis, usually referred to as the Akropolis, is a fortified complex of palaces, churches, cathedrals, and gardens located at the northern end of Alexandretta along the coast. The Alexandretta Akropolis is one of the best known of the Diadochian citadels or Akropolies and includes four palaces, four cathedrals, all enclosed in the Akropolis wall. The four palaces in the Akropolis are the, Great Akropolis Palace, Glentia Palace, Katoikía Palace, and the Psychagogía Palace (the palace of entertainments).
