They give experience to Spectrobes that eat it. Green Minerals give 32 EXP, twice as much as the Blue Mineral. They are somewhat common on the first planet, but become more common on planets later in the game. If a Child Search Spectrobe uncovers a Green Mineral in a field, it obtains 2 EXP.
