The ship was officially reregistered as HMS Surprise in honour of her role in the film. She sails several times a year, often with the museum's other tall ships, the schooner Californian and the 1863 barque Star of India. The ship appears in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as the HMS Providence. No "props" were used aboard the Surprise, as everything seen on screen was a working part of the ship.
