The "Holly Hop Drive" is a supposed Star Drive which was invented by the artificial intelligence Holly, of the JMC mining spaceship Red Dwarf, three million years into the future. It's control system was a small red box in the Drive Room, with two buttons, "start" and "stop". The Holly Hop Drive was designed to get Holly's crew (Lister, Rimmer and the Cat) back to Earth "in seconds". Rimmer believed the device to be pathetic, where Lister was more willing to give it a go.
