The ra'kek, or sunburst grenade, was a weapon developed by the Goa'uld. In its appearance, it resembled a communication sphere that was covered with nozzles which opened out when activated. Once this was done, the device fired bolts of energy out in all directions from the many nozzles that can kill enemy troops around the device. (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One")
