The Formors, also known as the Formorians are the ancient race of people described as being the authors of the Emigre Manuscript. Very little is known of them, but what is known is that they perfected the use of the manuscript and possessed the power to bring the dead back from beyond the grave. Roger comments that the resurrected dead were forced to work in a manner akin to that of golems in Jewish lore; without rest or food. The fate of the race is not known, though Roger speculates that the race and their society, just "fell apart" and then they just simply vanished into legend.
