The Loki-class Interceptor were made for exactly that - intercepting enemy fighters. With 4 laser cannons it could take on and defeat most minor threats. Excellent speed and manoeuvrability gave it the ability to outrun those it could not out gun. The Loki was the standard interceptor within the Confederate Navy from 10 BBY. It numbered in the thousands, and was piloted by well-trained men and women. In 17 ABY, it was updated to KI-1C configuration, complete with antimatter reactor and BioComp.
