With the French press method, Coffee is brewed by placing the coffee and water together, stirring it and leaving to brew for a few minutes, then depressing the plunger to trap the coffee grounds at the bottom of the beaker. Excessive (6 cups a day) consumption of unfiltered coffee has been associated with an increase in cholesterol. However, there does not appear to be an association of increased risk of coronary heart disease with coffee consumption.
