Diverting from the Soul Society, the story instead begins in the Dangai, a mysterious and dangerous spiritual plane. The Soul King created this dimension, hoping to calm the world. Once this is made known, the story diverges to the past of the Soul King, including his birth to the beginning of Bleach: Divine Right.
