Constance Spiderwick (born 1893) was the wife of Arthur Spiderwick and the mother of Lucinda Spiderwick. She was very critical to her husband's lifework. When Arthur disappeared in September 1935, Constance was left alone with Lucinda. Apparently, she died soon afterward, and when Lucinda was sent to live with relatives, the Spiderwick Mansion was abandoned.
