Mike was an orderly working at San Francisco Memorial Hospital. When moralities shifted and the world became too good, Mike had his hand cut off for using his cell phone in the hospital. However, since he and Piper were both affected by the new world, they believed it to be normal and laughed about it when Mike offered Piper a hand with her meal.
