The Rakantha farming project was a farming project on the planet Bajor in the late 2360s and early 2370s. With the help of soil reclamators, the project sought to renew farmlands in the Rakantha Province that had been previously poisoned by the Cardassians. This project was considered by some Bajorans, including Kira Nerys, as important. If successful, Bajor could begin exporting goods again and change the perception of the galaxy, making them see the Bajorans not as refugees, but as equals. (DS9: "Shakaar")
