The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a faculty of medicine attached to Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. It was founded in 1893. All medical education in the United States is now based on the model established at Johns Hopkins since its foundation. By 1910, a survey of medical schools came to the conclusion that only five in the entire United States provided an adequate medical education - JHUSM and four other schools that had followed its model.
