Schloss Richmond is the residence of Princess Victoria, Duchess of Brunswick, as well as the Ducal family. The Palace is located in the capital of Braunschweig. Construction began in 1768 and ended in 1769, when the palace was built as a gift for Princess Augusta Frederika of Wales, wife of Charles William Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick. It was prepared for use by Princess Victoria on 28th February 2009. The palace is protected by an elite unit of the Brunswick Armed Forces.
