Star Wars: Chronicles is a massive reference book published by Chronicle Books. It contains an extensive collection of Star Wars photography including a wealth of behind the scenes and pre-production photography. It is the predecessor to Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels. Much of the content has never been published before and offers an insight into the design process. There is extensive coverage of costumes, vehicles, puppets/animatronics, and behind the scenes images. In addition, each chapter ending includes a timeline of real-world events for each movie from pre to post production.
