Ms. Carmack is Lissa Dragomir's teacher in Basics of Elemental Control at St. Vladimir's Academy. In Shadow Kiss, she was among the Moroi that went with fifty guardians on a rescue mission to save a group of Moroi and Dhampirs that were kidnapped by the Strigoi that attacked the academy. During the rescue, she and Janine were fighting off three Strigoi until they prepared to make an escape. When one of the Strigoi went for her, she was saved by Janine and safely returned to the academy.
