Detective Inspector Alex Cullen was a character in the long-running ITV drama The Bill. He was played by Ged Simmons. Alex arrived at Sun Hill in 2000, following the CID clear-out following the Don Beech Scandal. Alex had been appointed by Tom Chandler in the hope that he would be a useful ally. Given Chandler's relentless (and ultimately unsuccessful) attempts to have Jack Meadows removed from duty, it is probable that Chandler wished to make him his Detective Chief Inspector.
