Larry Montray, or Lerrys as his name is rendered in casta, is a youth of mixed Terran and Darkovan ancestry. In a fostering arrangement similar to that of exchange students, he lives on Darkover as Valdir Lanart-Alton's foster son, while Valdir's son Kennard lives on Terra with Larry's mother (an Aldaran) and sister Yllana. Note that Yllana became Kennard's wife after the failure of his Council-blessed di catenas marriage and was the mother of both Lew and Marius (see both Heritage of Hastur and Sharra's Exile). Larry features in both Star of Danger and Winds of Darkover.
