Berlinite is a crystalline mineral, brownish-pink in color. It has an average hardness, making it easy to mine with standard mining tools. Although a rare substance on Earth, it is rather quite common everywhere else in the galaxy (the reason for such an anomaly currently unknown), making it an important source of both aluminum and phosphorus.
