Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire learned that the people of Tureen VII was secretly providing aid to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In response the Empire launched a siege on Tureen VII by setting up a blockade around the planet. The Alliance attempted three times to break through the Imperial blockade but were unsuccessful.
