Judge Hanley (Played by Leslie Barrett) was one of three judges at the witchcraft trial of Victoria Winters. Judge Hanley was the senior judge and as such led proceedings (427). He promised to protect Victoria's right against self-incrimination, thus allowing her to take the stand (433). As the trial neared its conclusion, Peter Bradford, Victoria’s attorney, begged Judge Hanley for more time. He gave Peter until Monday morning. After that time, he and his two fellow judges would be ready to declare a verdict (435). Once Victoria was found guilty, Joshua Collins attempted to persuade Judge Hanley to reconsider the sentence. He told Joshua that unless another witness in defense of Victoria could be found then the sentence of hanging would be carried out (452).
