Oakdare Police Station is a neo-classical building constructed in 1927CE, designed to appear much older. The architect was Salvador Garcia , whose design had won the contract over six others, to be used as part of the 1925CE police improvements program. The building consists of a three story, south facing block, with a portland stone facade. Another three, two story blocks, built from red brick, then adjoin, forming a central courtyard. Archways lead east (to an access road) and north (to the harbour). Within the building there are six cells, two interview rooms, a medical room and a small morgue.
