Crathie Court in Partick was Glasgow's first tower block to be built, approved in 1949. Construction was carrie dout by D.L..It is 8 storeys tall and built to an Art Deco style rather than the more common brutalist or modernist styles applied to many tower blocks. It was designed to accomodate single men and women, this is why many of the 89 flats have only one bedroom. As it is only 8 storeys tall, Moss Heights is often referred to as being the first high rise estate in the city at 10 storeys tall.
