The WWE Hardcore Championship was the third-tier championship title in the WWE E-Fed federation. The championship was originally Smackdown exclusive for only a short time before being merged with the Cruiserweight Championship and rendered inactive. The championship was reactivated as a RAW exclusive championship in 2008 before being made interbrand in 2011. The first champion was Daniel Puder who won a Championship Scramble to become the inaugural champion. The championship was reactivated by New Jack at Unforgiven on September 22, 2008 after winning but disowning the European Championship and claiming it the Hardcore Championship.
