The kilometer per hour, often abbreviated as kph, KMH, km/h, or km/hr, was a physical unit of speed or velocity, expressing the number of kilometers traveled in one hour. Kilometers per hour were often used to express the speed of vehicles, such as podracers, swoop bikes, speeder bikes, landspeeders, and even starfighters. Fast ground-based vehicles such as the 74-Z speeder bike used by Scout troopers had a maximum speed of 500 km/h. Podracers, which were designed for high-speed races, had higher maximum speeds. Young Anakin Skywalker's podracer had a maximum speed of 947 km/h.
